“I did not feel cared for

Emiru accused Twitch of mishandling her assault at TwitchCon 2025, saying nearby staff failed to act and did not check on her afterward. She disputed Twitch’s claim that the attacker was immediately removed, calling it false. The incident left her feeling unprotected and led her to announce she will not attend TwitchCon again.

Emiru became the center of an uncomfortable and unsettling conversation after speaking out about how Twitch handled a serious incident at TwitchCon 2025. What should have been a routine meet and greet turned into a moment that left the streamer questioning the safety systems surrounding some of the platform’s most visible creators. The San Diego Convention Center projected strength through metal detectors, bag checks, and wristband scans. Yet behind the appearance of control, gaps became painfully clear. Emiru, a creator with millions of followers, says those gaps mattered when it counted most and left her feeling exposed in a space meant to protect her.

Emiru calls out Twitch over safety failures at TwitchCon

The incident unfolded during Emiru’s meet and greet when an individual approached her, grabbed her, and attempted to kiss her.

Video footage later showed her pushing him away before intervention occurred. Emiru later wrote, “I don’t understand how he was allowed to make it to me in the first place,” questioning how someone bypassed multiple layers of security.

What followed was just as troubling. She said nearby TwitchCon staff did not react, while the person who escorted her away was part of her own team. “The woman who is walking me away is my own personal manager, and behind the booth, the only two people who were checking on me and comforting me were her and my friend.

None of the TwitchCon staff came to ask what happened or if I was okay,” she wrote.Twitch later claimed the individual was immediately removed and banned. Emiru rejected that version of events, calling it a “blatant lie.” She added, “He was allowed to walk away from my meet and greet, and I didn’t hear he was caught until hours after he attacked me, and it felt like this only happened because of my manager pressing for it, not because TwitchCon staff present thought it was a big deal.”The experience left lasting damage. Emiru announced this would be her final TwitchCon and urged others to reconsider attending. “I did not feel cared for or protected, even bringing my own security and staff,” she wrote. “I can’t imagine how creators without those options would feel.”Her words echo broader concerns as more streamers step back from major events, forcing Twitch to confront whether visible security truly equals real safety. Also Read: Emiru sparks confusion by revealing an unexpected warning to stop flying alone after her TwitchCon assault
