White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has been accused of not ruling out the US boots on the ground in Iran option in her latest interview with Fox News. This has riled up the anti-war section of the GOP like former Georgia Republican Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, who said the US should send bloodthirsty Republicans like Laura Loomer and Lindsey Graham to the war, and the the option of a military draft should not be on the table either.
A military draft (conscription) means the government requires people, usually young men, to join the armed forces, even if they did not volunteer. The US last used a draft during the Vietnam War, and it ended in 1973. A draft would only happen if Congress passes a law and the president approves it.

As Leavitt was asked about any possibility of a military draft, she said: “President Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table.”
“Mothers out there are worried that we’re going to have a draft, that they’re going to see their sons and daughters get involved in this,” Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo said. “I know a lot of politicians like to do that quickly, but the president as commander-in-chief wants to continue to assess the success of this military operation. It’s not part of the current plan right now, but the president, again, wisely keeps his options on the table,” Leavitt said.
Taylor Greene strongly reacted to the clip and pointed out the fact that Leavitt did not reject it outright. “How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!! Liars every single one of them! Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!” MTG said. “By the way a bunch of psycho Republicans want to not only draft your sons but your daughters too!!!!!“Send Lindsey Graham, Mark Levin, and Laura Loomer and ALL the murderous blood thirsty maniacs that support this America LAST WAR,” MTG continued. “They tried to add women to the draft to selective service multiple times while I was in Congress. Trump and Republicans need to guarantee that there will be NO DRAFT AND NEVER DRAFT OUR DAUGHTERS,” MTG wrote.
