Local resident Claire Martin, who works across the street from the courthouse, claimed that the streamer was already well known in Clarksville for allegedly provoking people while filming public videos. She accused him of yelling racial slurs and trying to get reactions from strangers during livestreams.Martin said she did not witness the shooting itself but saw what happened afterward.
