A 19-year-old cybersecurity researcher, Nisarga Adhikary, has alleged serious security flaws in Central Board of Secondary Education’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal, claiming vulnerabilities allowed unauthorised examiner access, password resets and possible mark manipulation. The claims surfaced amid ongoing criticism over CBSE’s digital evaluation process, including answer sheet mix-ups and portal glitches. Adhikary said he reported the issues to CERT-In in February, but several vulnerabilities allegedly remained unpatched before the portal was temporarily taken offline.
