Idaho ambush: Conspiracy theories about shooter Wess Roley going viral.

Wess Roley was identified as the 20-year-old shooter who killed two firefighters in an ambush in Idaho. Roley’s body was found near his weapon at the scene of the fire that he started to lure the firefighters but it was not known whether he committed suicide or whether he was killed in any exchange. While the police did not reveal much about the killer, social media went into overdrive in digging out details about him. Interestingly, there was not much digital footprint of Roley though there was no shortage of speculations indicating that probably his social media accounts were silently deleted before police announced his name.

Wess Roley’s parents rumored to be MAGA supporters

A photo of a couple sporting MAGA hats was shared claiming that they were the parents of Wess Roley — his mother and stepfather. There were claims on social media that Wess Roley was born in Russia and he had previously assaulted a woman with a knife. The purported Facebook account of his mother Heather Lynn went viral. Some reports claimed that Wess Roley lived with his family in Coeur d’Alene and his family had reported his threatening behavior to the authorities. A no-contact order was granted to his family members as a result, the report said adding that he deeply disliked his family’s support of President Trump, and became increasingly angry about it and towards them over the last few months.

Catturd insinuates Wess Roley was trans

Right-wing troll Catturd posted some unverified photos of Wess Roley and insinuated that he was trans.The Idaho ambush began around 2 pm Sunday on Canfield Mountain, just north of Coeur d’Alene, when smoke started pouring from the woods and first responders rushed to the scene where they were fired from behind the trees. Firefighters realized that they were lured into a trap and desperately called for backup. “I’m pinned down,” a firefighter said in the frantic call. “It’s clear to me that this fire was set intentionally to draw us in.Sunday’s incident happened 24 years to the day after a 2001 burning of an Aryan Nations compound in Hayden Lake — just 7 miles north of Coeur d’Alene — during a fire training operation.
